The Inter-Class Literary Championship
7 August 2024 to 13 August 2024
GENERAL RULES
- Metonym 2024 will begin on Wednesday, 7th August at 1:00 pm.
- Participation is open to students of all UG and PG classes.
- Some events require solo participation while others may require teams.
- For team events, the participating team must comprise students from the same class.
- An Inter-class Rolling Shield will be awarded to the class that earns the most points.
- The points system will be administered thus: 1 point for every participating entry (team/solo), 5 points for qualifying for the finals/achieving special mentions, and 12, 10 and 7 for I-II-III finishes respectively.
- Venues can change; Check notice-boards/blackboards/contact the event head.
- SHIFT 3 students will have a separate set of events at 6.30 pm, but they are welcome to take part in Metonym events at 1 pm and 4.30 pm when they are free.

- Only individual participants are allowed. You can submit multiple entries.
- Use the provided KG Cardboard to create a single-panel cartoon covering the entire sheet. Stick to pencils or pens for your artwork.
- The topic will be given to you during the event. The top three entries that best combine wit and creativity with current affairs will win prizes.

- A variation on Press Stress, Nose Cut is a team event where every bit of research helps

- Each team will be assigned an in-the news personality on 8th August
- Their job is to handle questions from a press conference on 10th August
- Teams can research personalities assigned to them, as well as to others during the contest
- Speakers must introduce themselves, and then begin taking questions
- Speakers may use distinctive attire/accessories associated with assigned personality after obtaining clearance from the organizers
- Researchers may assist speakers only through handwritten notes during the contest
- Time allowed: 1 minute for intro, 3 minutes for interaction, with a warning bell before close.
